Fleurdeliza Rabara

Fleurdeliza Batalao Rabara is the fifth child of Napoleon Batalao and Florencia Aranca, both from the villages of Pasil, Kalinga. "Porling," as she is known to her large extended family, is an expert in “Laga,” a Kalinga traditional backstrap loom weaving. Porling had this passion and curiousity about “Laga” when she first saw an elderly woman doing it during her visit in her parent’s tribal village. For Porling, meeting Jenny Bawer Young, a fellow Kalinga and who teaches Laga gave her to pursue her dream of being one of the Laga expert. She is passionate about “Laga” and she has dedicated herself to preserve this art and passing it on to any and all who are interested.
